Our commitment lies in crafting wines that embody the essence of each vintage. This dedication means adapting our methods, out of necessity, to suit the unique demands of the year.
In 2022, we faced the challenge of a significant frost in mid-April, striking precisely at budbreak and causing delays in growth for the vines, and many restless nights for the farmers. While the growth was notably slowed, especially for the chardonnay, we were fortunate to be blessed with a lengthy summer and an extended fall, characterized by abundant sunshine and warmth well into October. This favorable weather allowed our Pinot Noir grapes ample time to recover and achieve ripeness.
Choosing to incorporate 20% whole cluster fermentation, we aimed to produce a Pinot Noir that epitomizes texture and finesse. The result is a wine with a tannic mid-palate, balanced by a lingering, silky finish adorned with bright cherry notes and subtle spice. While youthful and intense, this Pinot Noir has the potential to gracefully evolve with age, promising a journey of elegance and complexity.
